the interview with God

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

So you would like to interview me? God asked.

If you have the time, I said.

God smiled. My time is eternity.
What questions do you have in mind for me?

What surprises you most about humankind?

God answered…
“That they get bored with childhood,
they rush to grow up, and then
long to be children again”.

“That they lose their health to make money…
and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future,
they forget the present,
such that they live in neither
the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they will never die,
and die as though they had never lived”.

God touches my hand
and we were silent for a while.

And then I asked…
If you a parent, what are some of life’s lessons
you want your children to learn

“To learn they cannot make anyone
love them. All they can do
is let themselves be loved”.

“To learn that it is not good
to compare themselves to others”.

“To learn to forgive
by practicing forgiveness”.

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds
to open profound wounds in those they love,
and it can take many years to heal them”.

”To learn that a rich person
is not one who has the most,
but is one who needs the least”.

“To learn that there are people
who love them dearly,
but simply have not yet learned
how to express or show their feelings”.

”To learn that two people can
look at the same thing
and see it differently”.

To learn that it is not enough that they
forgive one another, but they must also forgive themselves”.

“Thank you for your time,” I said humbly.

“Is there anything else
you would like your children to know?”

God smiled and said,
“Just know that I am here… always”.

anonymous,

why do you ever want people to remember you?

we have no right to do that. all human should be free from others; no one should do anything to satisfy other people. in islam, we are obliged to remember Allah, our prophet and our parents. we are not obliged, though to remember other people, regardless of how much they have helped us or how much they love us. i dont know about other religions and faith, but i do know that some things are just too precious they dont have a price tag. some of them are trust, faith, love and of course, remembrance. because these are the things we can achieve only by touching a person's heart, and eventhough we are the richest person on earth, or controlling the world's trade, or being the brilliant person on earth that enable us to make other people remember us.

and that, remembrance is not something that we can claim, because we have no rights on it. the same goes with love; we cant make other people love us eventhough we love them more than we love ourselves. because the affairs of the heart is governed by only One- that is Him. and no other. perhaps if you really want someone to remember you, you should ask for His help. but to be honest, i dont find any honour in making other people to remember us. by all means. because the keyword is actually not remembrance, but sincerity. i wont say that being sincere is easy; coz we humans have desire to be loved by the person that we love, but in my opinion, if we really love someone, we will do anything that's best for them eventhough that means breaking up and being forgotten, and we wont ask for anything in turn for our love.

i dont know much, and im still learning to translate what is it that God wants to reveal to me. but one thing for sure, if your love is true, He will show it to the whole world, and you wont play even a single part to do that. you dont even have to make the person remember you. because He owns everything, He knows everything, and He knows what's best for us.

and because you havent answer my question, i wont know if my answer is relevant to you. so i want to ask u back, why do you ever want people to remember you?

im sorry if i dont answer your question...
